Collision on Highway 84

Paramedics, Grove Hill and Helwestern firemen and volunteers worked to free Anell Presnall "Renae" Snell from a 2003 Toyota Corolla Saturday afternoon. Snell was pulling out on to Highway 84 from Oak Street in Grove Hill when she was struck by a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Kevin Watkins of Whatley headed west on 84. Watkins ran off the opposite side of the road and collided with a tree. Snell was airlifted to a Mobile hospital. Investigating Grove Hill policeman Joe Allen said Monday that he had talked to her by phone and she appeared not to be seriously hurt. Watkins suffered a cut to the head but appeared to be OK.
