Nettles Frances Moss Nettles, 96, of Monroeville died April 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1911. She was a native of Tuscaloosa. She had resided in Monroe County since 1989. She was a private piano teacher for over 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroeville. Survivors include one son, William (Bill) M. (Ginny) Nettles Sr., Lake City, Fla.; one daughter, Sammye N. (Forester) Long, Monroeville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam C. Nettles Jr., and a daughter, Frances Ann Nettles Plummer. The service was April 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Penton officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Arlington Methodist Church or the Alabama Public Television, Lawrence Welk Enterprises.
