Technology approved for T'ville civic center stage

      The Thomasville City Council approved a lease-purchase agreement for the computerized lighting and rigging systems that will be used at the city's civic center. The lease-purchase agreement is valued at $246,223 and will be paid out over the course of 84 months, said city attorney Edmon McKinley.

Several juveniles in Jackson arrested for possession of alcohol

      The Jackson Police Department reported the arrests of several juveniles Sunday, April 27, for illegally possessing alcohol. According to police reports, Sgt. Josh Garrett responded to a noise complaint at a residence in the 500 block of West Cedar Street.

County school system wants to introduce ROTC program

      Officials with the Clarke County School System are working with an architect on renovating the old Clarke County High School library building for a new Technology Training Center. State Representative Marc Keahey recently awarded the system $250,000 for the center.
