We must trust in the Lord - totally
By Rev. Levi H. Marshall Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church

As believers today we are constantly faced with opposition. Many situations and circumstances require us to choose between good and evil or right and wrong.

King Saul was instructed to lead the army of Israel into battle in Gilgal and to wait seven days for Samuel to make a peace offering. However, the Israelites became disturbed and began to scatter.

Saul felt because it was the seventh day and because of the people's behavior that he would make the sacrifice on Israel's behalf. But Saul was only to lead the people and Samuel was anointed to make the sacrifice. As soon as Saul made the offering, Samuel arrived.

Saul thought he was doing what was right. Sometimes the biggest mistake we make is to think. Trust and faith have nothing to do with what we think but with the Word and Will of God. Blind Obedience positions us to totally trust in the Lord, without question. As believers, we must learn to listen to the voice of God and filter out the voice of opposition that comes from the enemy.

We must learn to operate in the capacity that God has ordained for us as believers. We cannot allow what we see to determine how we react. Fear and apprehension will drive us out of the will of God.
