Lots of events remaining at CCHS
By Jake Paul Special to The Democrat

The counselor's office has been very busy this month with multiple activities. The Ambassadors will participate in Field Day at Grove Hill Elementary, Awards/ Memory Night will be May 8, and the Honor's Luncheon will be held May 14.

On May 8, the Ambassadors will work at Grove Hill Elementary School's annual Field Day. The student leaders will operate obstacles for the kids to participate in and earn prizes. There are several Ambassadors for the 2007-2008 academic year. They include Schaefer Bradford, Hunter Cross, Carly Cunningham, Whitney Drinkard, Caleb Harrison, Dayton Horton, Ebony Hughes, Paige Jackson, Ottis Jackson, Whitney Kidd, Ezban Morrissette, Jake Paul, Eric Smith, Taylor Webb, Nikki Williams, Ellie Wilson, and Jasmine Young.

That same evening at six o'clock in Sage Auditoritun, Awards/ Memory Night will be held, Awards Night will include the presentation of scholarships, subject area awards, the announcing of the academic top 10, the recognition of Beta Club officers and senior members, the recognition of Ambassadors, and announcing leadership conference delegates.

Following the awards, the seniors will begin Senior Memory Night.

On May 14, 57 students will attend the Honor's Luncheon recognizing their achievements. In order to be invited to the luncheon, the student must have all A's or all A's and B's on each of his or her report cards.

This is the most students that has ever been invited and that is something that should be recognized.

CCHS also has three young ladies who are vying for a spot on the Mobile Press Register's All Academic Team. The ladies are Dayton Horton, Ebony Hughes, and Ellie Wilson. They are competing with other students from the area based on their grade point averages. Good luck, girls!
