Pace Lillian (White) Pace, 74, died April 26, 2008 at Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 20, 1933 in Morvin. She was the daughter of Elmore and Lillie M. White. She was a member of the Cedar Point Baptist Church of Coffeeville. She later joined the Church of God In Christ on April 26, 1976 where she was a faithful and devoted member. She served as the president of the pastor's aide, president of the usher board, served as district usher and sang in the Thomasville District Choir under the leadership of Elder Wiley Crum, Elder Willie Page and Elder James Whigham. She took care of the elderly and sick. For the past four years she has been under watch care at the Living Word Christian Center under the leadership of Bishop Levy H. Knox. She had been employed by Vanity Fair and the Clarke County Board of Education as a child nutritionist at the Coffeeville Elementary School for 16 years and retired in 1996. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and sewing. Survivors include her husband, Cecil Pace of 57 years; two sons, Cecil "Leon" Pace Jr., Joliet, Ill., Edward Pace, Tuscaloosa; five daughters, Arnita (Clarence Sr.) Williams, Linda (Carl) Avery, Jacqueline Pace, all of Springfield, Ohio, Gladys (James) Ivy, Mobile, Lillie (Joe) Everett, Grove Hill; two brothers, James (Minnie) White, Putnam, Johnny (Eva Lee) White, Thomasville; a sister in-law, Amelia White, Putnam; brother-in-law, Jessie L. Shamburger; a grandson, Gerald Pace, St. Louis, Mo. and a niece, Lula White, East Orange, N.J.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Melvin White; five brothers, Leonard, Busby (Elnora) White, Rev. Johnnie White, Elder Louis Lee (Ida) White and Berry (Ruby) White; two sisters, Lula Mae Shamburger and Scluster (Willie) Davis; one grandson, Derrick Pace, one great-grandson, Ja-Quez Tarvin.
Visitation will be Friday, May 2 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Reese Chapel Funeral Home in Mobile. The service will be Saturday, May 3 at 12 noon at Cedar Point Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeeville. Burial will follow in the Cedar Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
