Lady Bulldogs edged in tight softball games

Outfielder Hannah Barnes snags a fly ball last week against Thomasville.
The Clarke County High School Lady Bulldogs closed the regular season by dropping a heartbreaker 8-7 Tuesday against Leroy.

Abby Walker went 2-for-4 with a triple. Gioia Jackson was 2-for-4 with a double. Brittney Harvell went 2-for-4.

Walker started the game on the mound pitching but was relieved by Ericka Williams in the sixth inning.

Last Friday CCHS dropped another close game, 9-7, to Escambia County.

Walker, Jackson and Williams each went 2-for-4.

Williams pitched all seven innings, striking out four.

The Lady Bulldogs lost 3-2 to Thomasville last Thursday.

Williams went 2-for-3. Jackson had a triple. Hannah Barnes added a hit.

CCHS travels to Mobile Thursday (today) to play in the area tourney. They take on Washington County in the double-elimination tournament.
