clean-up day

Oak Grove Baptist Church located in the Chilton community will have a clean-up day Saturday, May 10 at 8 a.m. Anyone with a family grave is asked to help and asked not to place glass containers in the cemetery.

Inspirational Tabernacle Church of God in Christ located at 1171 Industrial Road in Jackson will have its second year of Women in Ministry Crusade Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The special guests will be Missionary Mary Rocker, Prophetess Ramona Armstead, Prophetess Carmen Williams, Pastor Belinda Kelley and Evangelist, Lisa Lewis.

The theme will be "Where are the Mourning Women?" Jeremiah 9:17-20. Rev. Beverly Jackson is the pastor.

Lily Baptist Church of Fulton will have its pastor's anniversary Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. S.L. Hives and congregation of Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Sweet Water. The anniversary will end Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Rev. Marvin Langham and congregation of Prichard. Rev. Wiley McMillian is the pastor.

Walnut Grove

Walk-A-Thon

Walnut Grove Youth Department will have a Youth Health Walk-A-Thon Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Thomasville High School on Gates Drive.

The event will continue at the Walnut Grove Community Worship Center in Morvin with Youth Fun Day. Refreshments will be served.

Day

Wayman Chapel AME Church of Suggsville will hold its annual Choir Day Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. the speaker for the hour will be Bishop Charles Johnson of the New Jerusalem Holiness Church of Bay Minette. Dinner will be served.

All choirs and soloists are asked to render an A&B selection. Please register at the door. Rev. Prospere Sainvilus is the pastor.

Oak Grove Baptist Church of Chilton will hold its homecoming Sunday, May 18 at 10 a.m. followed by preaching and dinner on the grounds.

An afternoon singing will begin at 1:30 p.m. featuring Good News and others. Pastor Morris Hill invites everyone to come and join the fellowship.

New Home Church of Monroeville will have a singing Friday, May 23 at 7 p.m. featuring "Heirline" of Chattanooga, Tenn. Also singing will be "New Direction" of Monroeville. New Home Church is located between Repton and Monroeville just north of U.S. Highway 84 East. Revs. Kenneth Johnson and Thomas Smith invite everyone to attend.

Truevine Baptist Church will have its second annual basketball tournament Saturday, June 7 at 9 a.m. at Jackson High School Gymnasium. There will be first, second and third place prizes to be given away. Each player on each team is asked to pay $5 for ages 15 and up and the tournament is only for boys and men.
