"THE FIREMEN AND THE SNAKE"
Ukrainian firemen ran in panic from a burning building. On their way out, one of them tripped over what he thought was a water hose. When he reached to pick it up, he found that it was a 10-foot python. Many have tripped over things that appeared to be harmless, only to run in panic and pain. Sin may fool, but it always frightens in the end. Think of David. He staked his crown for a woman's kiss, and suffered tragically. What about Absalom? He wound up being hanged by the hair of his head. The Bible says, "Sin, when it is finished, brings forth death."
Prayer: Save us, heavenly Father, from all our sins, from sins of heart and hands, from sins of face and feet, from sins of habits and haunts. Constrain us to avoid the steps that will lead us to sin. Help us to lead others to Thee: through Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
