Suspects arrested in mailbox vandalism

Grove Hill burglary suspect still at large

      A burglary suspect remains at large after officials with the Clarke County Sheriff's Department searched for him May 7 in Grove Hill. Douglas Harris was discovered living in a log cabin on North Church Street without permission, said Chief Investigator Ron Baggette.

Man arrested who was wanted by U.S. Marshals

      A Grove Hill man wanted by U.S. Marshals on sexual assault charges was arrested early Tuesday by Jackson Police. According to Chief Charles Burge, Officer Barry Fowler was patrolling in the area of Forest Avenue around 1:55 a.m., when he observed a suspicious vehicle near some businesses.

      Jackson Police are investigating the cashing of a bogus check at the Pic-N-Sav grocery store around 1:45 p.m., April 27. According to Jackson Police Chief Charles Burge, two Hispanic males went into store and produced a check in the amount of $398.
