"CHEAP SHOT"
A pastor and a deacon went bear hunting one afternoon. They saw the bear at the same time, they fired at the same time, and the bear fell. But they wondered who shot the bear. They searched for bullet holes in the bear but couldn't find any. "You shot him," said the deacon. "The bullet went in one ear and out the other." Don't let the Bible go in one ear and out the other. Keep it in your heart as a fire to warm you, as a spring to refresh you, and as water to cleanse you. Our Lord said, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for the wonderful word of the Bible. Give us a love for it that we may at all times be constant in reading it, glad to listen to it, eager to study it, and anxious to live it and to show it in our lives: through Christ. Amen.
