Mr. and Mrs. Everette Stephens of Grove Hill celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary Tuesday, July 1.
Mr. Everette was employed by Burge's, Inc. and later Piggly Wiggly for 54 years. Miss Faye taught many of Grove Hill's children over the years in her school, Miss Faye's Kindergarten.
They have been members of the Grove Hill Baptist Church for over 50 years where Mr. Everette was a deacon and Sunday school teacher and Miss Faye working in the nursery.
Since retiring Miss Faye loves to fish, read, quilt and do puzzles. Mr. Everette spends a lot of time in his vegetable garden, where he is helped by their cat, Smoltz. They both enjoy watching the Braves.
They were joined in their celebration by their son and daughter in-law, Kenneth and Leah Stephens of Montgomery and their daughter and son-in-law, Duff and Karen Bassett of Oklahoma City, Okla. They will be visited in August by their grandchildren, Samuel and Ashley Baggett of Edmond, Okla.
Mr. and Mrs. Everette Stephens were married July 1, 1948.

Congraulations on your 60 anniversary. I enjoyed your kindergarden so much. That was the only kindergarten that I did not cry when I went to school because when I went to the elementary school we was in trailers and we would have thunder storms and I would want to go home. It was great to go there I could not see the lighting only the rain when woulg hit the grould
