Dixon seeks another term in District 5

Dixon
Alberta Smiley Dixon is seeking re-election to the District 5 position on the Thomasville City Council.

Dixon thanked the citizens of her district for their support and cooperation over the years. She said she has enjoyed being a

member of the city council and serving the citizens of Thomasville and wants to continue.

"Thomasville is a town where people work together for a common goal," Mrs. Dixon said. "We have many volunteers who work hard on boards and committees to accomplish the task before them. The results can be seen all over Thomasville, a town on the move. This makes me glad that I am a Thomasvillian, and I am proud of the growth and the progress we have made."

She continued, "We have started projects that I want to be part of their completion, such as building the civic center, renovating the Boys and Girls Club, renovating Fire Station #2, completing the sidewalk on MLK Street, revitalizing downtown and improving drainage on our streets."

Mrs. Dixon hopes her experience, her dedication and her love for Thomasville along with the vote of the residents in District 5 will enable her to keep her seat on the council.

As a member of the council, Mrs. Dixon serves on the Waterworks and Sewer Board, the Personnel Board, the Library Board, Thomasville Revitalization and Community Development Board and on the Alabama League of Municipalities Committee on Human Development.

"I look forward to working with our projects including a new library, a regional hospital, our own water system, city sewer available in every community, more job opportunities and more entertainment for our citizens," she said.

"On Aug. 26, go to Fire Station #3 on Bashi Road and re-elect me, Alberta Dixon," she said. "Let me use my experience to continue to serve you. Your vote for me will be highly appreciated."
