Grove Hill Pee Wee football league still churning along

The Grove Hill Pee Wee football teams and cheerleaders played before a big crowd at H.G. Prim Stadium recently against Fruitdale. GH swept all of the games.
The Grove Hill Pee Wee Dawgs traveled to Leroy last Saturday to take on the junior teams in Bear Country.

In the Mini-mite game GH won 36-0.

Harris Gates scored on a 52- yard run. Caleb Taite added a 50- yard touchdown run. Charles Beckham had a 2-point conversion in the game.

Jarrett Chapman, Beckham and Taite had big tackles. Karl Peoples and Keylon Osborne had quarterback sacks. Kafe McGhee and Osborne had hard hits on Leroy runners. Karl Peoples recoved a fumble in the contest.

The Tiny Mites followed with a 22-6 win.

William Foreman scored several touchdowns in the Grove Hill win.

Quintaris Knight and Rashon More added 2-point conversions.

Horn, Matt Roper, Narontae Johnson and Will Elmore had big tackles. Elmore also had a sack.

Elmore, Roper and Gabriel Marshal were the team captains.

The Midgets lost 36-6 to Leroy.

Tay Tay Washington had a 50- yard TD run and Tony Lewis had another touchdown.

The Juniors ended the day by beating the Junior Leroy team 20-8.

Xavier "Red" Burden had three touchdowns for GH. Quarterback Justin Smith had a 47-yard TD run for the Dawgs. Jacorey Snell added a 2-point conversion.

Two weeks ago Grove Hill hosted Fruitdale and swept all of the games.

The Mini-Mite Dawgs won 32- 6.

Caleb Taite had a 23-yard TD run. Harris Gates added the 2- point conversion. Demarcus Thomas had a 22-yard touchdown sprint. Kamryn Harris scored the 2-point conversion. Harris Gates added a 30-yard touchdown dash. Demarcus Thomas ran in the 2-point conversion. Thomas scored the final TD on a 32-yard run. Gates had the 2-point conversion.

Keylon Osborne, Taite, and Charles Beckham each had a sack. Harris, Jarrett Chapman and Kade McGhee had a fumble recovery. Christian Goodman, Taite and McGhee combined on a big QB sack.

The Tiny Mite Dawgs won their game 23-0.

Deondre Pugh had a 49-yard touchdown run. William Foreman added a 41-yard, a 40-yard and an 85-yard TD run. Quintaris Knight had two 2-point conversions as well as a QB sack.

Logan Rush and Rashon Horn each had a pass reception.

Jalen Bettis, Hunter Carter, Will Elmore and Jaylin Dickinson had big hits.

Grove Hill returns home this Saturday as they host McIntosh.

The admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and free for children under 6-years-old.

Game times are 3 p.m. for Mini- Mites; 4 p.m. for Tiny Mites; 5 p.m. for Midgets; and 6 p.m. for the Juniors at H.G. Prim Stadium.
