Bulldogs beat Jackson 58-48
      The Clarke County High School Bulldogs held off a late rally and beat the Jackson High School Aggies 58-48 last Saturday night in Grove Hill. It was a stark difference from the last time the two played. In December they met in the championship game of the county tournament and CCHS scored 30 first quarter points while the Aggies tallied 20 points.

      I fell into the same trap as just about everyone else outside the state of Utah.....I thought the Sugar Bowl was just a formality.... a game that would springboard the Alabama Crimson Tide into a possible run at a title next season.

Lady Bulldogs win two tourney games
      The Clarke County High School Lady Bulldogs were nipped 39-35 by the Lady Aggies of Jackson High School Saturday night in Grove Hill. Alex Rouse led CCHS with nine points and seven rebounds. Kiara Gildersleeve added eight points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Keshia Coats had six points and six rebounds. MeMe Martin had five points.

Boy takes first deer
     Will Beck of Fulton killed his first deer a spike with his dad on Christmas Eve in Chance. He is the son of Lil and Rob Beck.

Winter baseball clinic Jan. 17
      Organizers for the annual Thomasville Winter Baseball Clinic are hard at work setting up the 2009 edition which is planned for Saturday, Jan. 17. It will mark the 20th straight year that this event has been held in Thomasville.
