Willie "Billy" Walker, 75, of Bashi died Feb. 27, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary.
He was born Nov. 8, 1933. He was a member of Elam Baptist Church. He was retired from the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Ann Walker, Bashi; one son, Lamar Walker, Thomasville; two daughters, Martha Sue Rush, Thomasville, Evelyn W. Smith, Pine Hill; five sisters, Syble W. Smith, Linden, Eloise W. Cockran, Carrol, Ala., Wanda Gail Johnson, Aliceville, Margaret W. Broom, Mobile, Cecil Barnett, Livingston; six grandchildren; one greatgrandchild.
The service was March 2 at 10 a.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Johnny Stabler officiating. Burial was in the Bashi United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Pugh, Jeff Pugh, Joe Pugh, Brett Rush, Phillip Richardson and Eddie Huckabee. Honorary pallbearer was Donald Morgan.
