Lucy Mae Clay, 78, of Whatley died March 3, 2009 in a Mobile area hospital.
She was born Sept. 13, 1930. She was a native of Lower Peach Tree. She was a member of Horeb Baptist Church of Whatley. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Bennie Slade Vick, Whatley; two daughters, Shirley Counselman, Coffeeville, Dixie Reeves, Jackson; four brothers, Clarence Mitchell, Peach Tree City, Ga., Horace Mitchell, Hogansville, Ga., Za Dock Mitchell, Fulton, Kossuth Mitchell, Banner, Ky.; two sisters, Nancy White, Hogansville, Ga., Doris Hill, Fulton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The service was March 5 at 11 a.m. at the Horeb Baptist Church in Whatley with Revs. Royce DuBose and Warren Shewmake officiating. Burial was in the Whatley Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
Active pallbearers were Brent Fuller, Daniel Fuller, Jerry Vick, Kristian Reeves, Lincoln Reeves, Tannon Reeves, Benny Fuller and Lamar Johnson. (7-1tp)
