Elmer Leon Keith, 79, of Wagarville died March 17, 2009 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 6, 1929. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Private First Class and he also received a Purple Heart while serving in the Army. He was a retired millwright with McMillian Bloedel.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Boroughs Keith, Wagarville; three sons, Andrew "Andy" (Hope) Keith, Leroy, Thomas "Tommy" Keith, Wagarville, Michael "Mike" (Lynette) Keith, Gulf Shores; one daughter, Amy K. (Duane) Baxter, Bigbee; one brother, John Walton "Runt" (Sandra) Keith, Wagarville; 10 grandchildren.
The service was March 19 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson. Burial with military honors was in the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery in Wagarville.
