Jeanette Roberts White, 72, of Jackson died April 4, 2009 in a Clarke County area hospital.

She was born Nov. 12, 1936. She was a native of Campbell. She was a member of River Hill Baptist Church of Salitpa. She was a member of the Jackson Rescue Squad and a committee member and scout leader from 1982 for many years with Boy Scout Troop #55 of Jackson. She had worked as a telephone operator for Geigy.

Survivors include her husband, Harold White, Salitpa; two sons, Jim White, Jackson, Jason White, Salitpa; one brother, Len Roberts, Smyra; five sisters, Inez Fleming, Salitpa, Mera Roberts, Ronita Hudson, Sue Carol Atchison, all of Jackson, Mona Sisk, Decatur; four grandchildren, Ariel Gibbs, Karen Parnell, Colton White and Alex White.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Iris Harwell and Betty Jo Mitchem.

The service was April 7 at 11 a.m. at River Hill Baptist Church in Salitpa with Rev. Wilton Bennett officiating. Burial was in the River Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Salitpa. Lathan Funeral Home directed.

The family suggests donations to the charity of one's choice; Boy Scout Troop #55, 501 West Cedar St., Jackson Rescue Squad and River Hill Baptist Church.
