Homer N. Loper, 71, of Chatom died April 11, 2009 in a Mobile Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1937. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church between Chatom and Millry. He was a Mason and Member of the Chatom Masonic Lodge, Shriner and member of the Abba Temple Shrine in Mobile. He served locally as an officer in the Modern Woodmen of the World. He served three years in the United States Air Force. He was retired from Ciba Geigy Corp. in McIntosh as a maintenance foreman.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Faye Loper, Chatom; one son, Robby Loper, Chatom; two daughters, Shelia Loper Dungan, Lisa Loper Boykin, both of Chatom; one brother, Farris Loper, Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren.
The service was April 14 at 3 p.m. in the Springhill Baptist Church with Revs. Kenneth Henson and David Goldman officiating. Burial was in the Springhill Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directed.
