Lillis Luker Etheredge, 80, of Nicholsville died April 7, 2009 at Specialty Hospital of Meridian, Miss.

She was born Nov. 5, 1928 in Chilton. She was a member of Nicholsville Baptist Church. She was a former switch board operator at the Thomasville Adjustment Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Luker (Earl) Wilson, Nicholsville, Myra Luker (Daryl) Wyatt, Tuscaloosa; seven brothers, Frazier D. Sheffield, Saraland, Willie Elisha Sheffield, Milton Estes Sheffield, Grove Hill, Billy Frank Sheffield, Decatur, William David Sheffield, Thomasville, Coma Wayne Sheffield, Selma, Marvin Artis Sheffield, Millers Ferry; four sisters, Marie Ott, Martha Ann Pope, both of Thomasville, Mary Magalene Jordan, Saraland, Eula Neal, Whynot, Miss.; six grandchildren, Chad Wilson, Jason Wilson, Monica Morgan, Jessica Larrimore, Michelle Ellington, Bobby Morgan; 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Willie Wilson Luker, husband, Herman Etheredge, a granddaughter, Nikkie Wilson.

The service was April 9 at 11 a.m. with Revs. Doug Coburn and Walter Smith officiating. Burial was in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Nicholsville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers Matthew Sheffield, Ladell Ott, Milton Sheffield, Johnny Sheffield, Derwin Kinman and Allen Sheffield.
