Repairs to the Grove Hill Baptist Church steeple were completed last Friday as J & B Construction, owned by Joel and Brian James of Coffeeville, set the top part, despite swirling winds, early Friday morning. The roof that holds the steeple had to be replaced because of rotting wood. The entire project took about a week to complete. Grove Hill Baptist Church hosted Dixie League Days Sunday afternoon at Sage Auditorium and saw over 500 attend, despite the rainy weather conditions. Several area churches were there to help as counselors for any of those there who wanted to make confessions of faith. The contemporary band Hello August performed to start the evening. They were followed by former major league baseball player Blake Mayo, who gave his testimonial, with a slant towards baseball. Greg Albritton polled 59 percent of the vote cast in the portion of Clarke County in State Senate District 22 in the special April 14 Republican primary.
