Robert "Bob" Francis Morrison Sr., 91, of Lillian died May 22, 2009 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 6, 1917. He was a native of Birmingham and former resident of Jackson. He was a retired car dealer with the old Anderson Motor Company.
He was a member of Innerarity Point Baptist Church of Lillian. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson.
He was a former Jackson city councilman, serving for 12 years.
He was a former Sunday School teacher and superintendent of First Baptist Church in Jackson, former chairman of the Board of Deacons, former president of Jackson Little League and was instrumental in helping build North Jackson Park. He was also a former president of the Jackson Opitimist Club.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Morrison, Lillian; three sons, Robert F. "Butch" Morrison Jr., Lillian, Malcolm Scott "Tony" Morrison, Jackson, Joseph Gray Morrison, Auburn; five grandchildren.
The service was May 25 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Revs. Jerry Gibson and Tim Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson. An online guest book may be signed at wwwlathanfuneralhomes. com. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
