James Eddie Harrison, 62, a lifelong resident of the Chilton community, died at a family residence Sunday, June 7, 2009.
He was born April 7, 1947. He was a retired District Soil Conservationist with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He also worked as a private wildlife management consultant. He was a member of the Thomasville Baptist Church and Gideons International.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Dianne Ballard Harrison; one son, Keith Eddie Harrison and partner, Michael Dorris; two daughters, Rita Delanie Harrison, Darla Harrison (Chris) Burbank; parents, Bealie James Harrison and Willie Mae White Harrison; one brother, Eric (Sonya) Harrison; one sister, Ann Harrison ( Jimmy) Whatley; and three grandchildren, Lyndsey Harrison, Brooke Williams, Sullivan Burbank; 11 nephews and nieces.
The service was Wednesday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at the Thomasville Baptist Church with Revs. Butch Starks, Wilton Bennett and Leon Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery in Chilton. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were Kent Ballard, Jimmy Ballard, Larry Barnes, Jerry Hare, Stan Hutto, Donnie Hutto, Bubba Luker and Tommy Luker.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Skinner, Guy Meador, Stan Payne, Jimmy Jones, Rick Findley, John Collins, Jerome Baxley, Eric Baxley, Mike Hinson, Troy Beatty and Rick Merritt.
