Lovie Hicks Edge, 80, of Thomasville died June 12, 2009 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 9, 1928. She will be remembered and loved by many from her some 60 years working at local businesses: Bedsole Dry Goods, Martin's Store and Clarke Mobile Counties Gas District - Thomasville office. Lovie was a longtime member of the Thomasville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Roy Edge; one son, Ron Edge, Brewton; grandson, J.R. Edge and his fiancee Jenifer Rohman, Pensacola, FL; granddaughter, Callie Edge (Billy) Best, and their two children and Lovie's great-grandchildren, Amelia and Will of Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Callie Hicks of Clarke County, two brothers, Bobby Joe Hicks, Dixon Mills, George Edward Hicks, Pine Hill.
The service was June 14 at 3 p.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Ty Parten officiating. Burial was in the Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery in Grove Hill.
Active pallbearers were J.R. Edge, Billy Best, Al Springfield, Johnny Duncan, Bill Bilbry and Kevin Bilbry.
Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Thomasville Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Thomasville Baptist Church Hand and Hand Building Fund or the Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
