John Harvey Curry, 75, of Frankville died June 13, 2009 at his residence.

He was born June 11, 1934. He was a member of Frankville Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. He was a welder and was retired from B & R Construction. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He loved playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Kelley Curry, Frankville; one son, Harvey Lee (Sharee) Curry, Bigbee; one daughter, Sheryl Lynn (Carlos) Hare, Frankville; one brother, Henry Louis Curry, Rosenburg, Texas; three sisters, Katie Tyson, Oberlin, LA, Helen Ammons, Mobile, Maria (Chester) Anderson, Grand Bay; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.

A military service was June 16 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Methodist Church in Frankville with Revs. David Goldman and John Stone officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.

Active pallbearers were Wilton Curry, Tony Stewart, Jimmy Stewart, Barry Kelley, Mike Tyson and George Curry.

Honorary pallbearers were Olan Kelley Jr., Jerry Stewart, James Stewart, Floyd Ross, Minton Boman, Jake Overstreet, Lamar Singleton, Jerry Earl Johnson and Chester Anderson. (21-1tp)
