James William McIlwain, 68, of Tibbie died June 28, 2009 at a Mobile hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1940. He was a member of Tibbie Baptist Church. He was a member of the Washington County Reserve Deputies. He was retired from Ciba Corporation in the Maintenance Department. He was currently employed with the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
Survivors include his wife, Carol McIlwain, Tibbie; two sons, James "Mac" (Christy) McIlwain, Brandon, MS, Kenneth Lee McIlwain, Bay Minette; one brother, Larry McIlwain, Tibbie; four sisters, Marilyn Parnell, Bonnie Parnell, both of Tibbie, Mary Alice Whiteley, Turnerville, Yvonne Melder, Glenmora, LA; two grandchildren, McKenzie McIlwain and Madelyn McIlwain, both of Brandon, MS.
The service was July 1 at 11 a.m. at Tibbie Baptist Church with Revs. Al Brown, Ernest Tucker, Tim Martin and Dr. Ken Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Tibbie Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directed.
Active pallbearers were Sheriff Richard Stringer and members of the Washington County Sheriff's Dept.
