High school grad exam to be given at JHS

The Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE) will be administered at the Jackson High School Auditorium the week of Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24.

The summer administration is for all rising seniors in the county who still need one or more parts of the exam and for former students who may still need a portion of the exam.

Students should report to JHS on the specific days of their exams. Students should arrive around 7:30 a.m. with at least two (2) sharpened Number 2 lead pencils. Research has proven that students

who eat a balanced breakfast perform better on standardized tests than students

who do not. Students may bring snacks for their break time.

The specific tests are scheduled as follows: Monday, July 20-Social Studies; Tuesday, July 21-Science/Biology; Wednesday, July 22- Math; Thursday, July 23-Reading; Friday, July 24- Language.

Tutoring for the reading exam is available at Coffeeville High School as follows: Monday, July 7 from 1-3 p.m.; Monday, July 13 from 8- 10 a.m.; Thursday, July 16 from 1-3 p.m.

Tutoring is available at Clarke County High School as follows: Every Monday until the test from 9-11 a.m. for Math; Every Tuesday until the test from 9-11 a.m. for Reading.

Tutoring is available at JHS on the following days: Reading, July 9, 16 from 9-11 a.m.; Social Studies, July 9 from 3-5 p.m.; Language, July 9 from 3-5 p.m., Biology, July 14-16 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon; Math, July 14-16 from 9-11 a.m.

Additional Reading tutorials will be provided at the Clarke County Board of Education Office on July 13-15 from 3-5 p.m.

Rising seniors should remember that each exam should be attempted in order to be eligible for the creditbased endorsement.
