Maggie Ruth Tanner, 86, of Richmond, VA died July 13, 2009 at a family's residence.
She was born Oct. 8, 1922. She was a native of Clarke County and retained her family's residence in Salitpa (Coffeeville) throughout her lifetime until moving to Virginia. She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retired secretary with China Doll Rice Company.
Survivors include one son, Aaron Frank Tanner III, Saraland; two daughters, Kathy Tanner Steerman, Norfolk, VA, Barbara Tanner Williams, Birmingham; one brother, Cass B. Knight, Coffeeville; three grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Tanner, Perrysburg, OH, Aaron Seth Tanner, Greensboro, NC, Paul Tanner Williams, Birmingham; one great-grandchild, Erin Sydney Tanner, Perrysburg, OH.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. and the service will be at 11 a.m. at Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Saltion itpa. Burial will be in the Coffeeville Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home Jackson will direct.
