She was born Jan. 8, 1941 to the late John and Annie Lou (Creighton) Raine. She was a member of the Indian Ridge Baptist Church. She retired after working 31 years (mostly remembered for employment at Piggly Wiggly and IGA) in the Grove Hill community. She also worked after retirement at the Clarke County Historical Museum and the Clarke County Department of Human Resources.
Survivors include three daughters, Dr. Alesia Norwood, Thomasville, Mrs. Joycelyn (Jack Jr.) Mallory, Meridian, MS, Mrs. Janice (Keith) Smith, Selma; three sons, Marcus (Patricia) Raine, Tony (Keesha) Rivers, Meridian, MS, Russell Rivers, Tuscaloosa; a daughter-inlaw, Emma J. Raine (widow of Pastor Harold Raine Sr.), Grove Hill; one brother, Nathaniel (Bernice) Raine, Whatley; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death in 1993 by her oldest son, Pastor Harold Fernando Raine Sr., two sisters, one in infancy and Ms. Mattie P. Harris who died in Feb. 2009.
The service was held at Indian Ridge Baptist Church in Whatley with Rev. Johnny Lynum officiating. Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home directed.
