Lindsey DeShae Syphrit, 19, of Mt. Vernon died July 29, 2009 at a Mobile hospital.

She was born Feb. 15, 1990. She was a native of Jackson. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Deer Park. She was a student at Augusta Evans School.

Survivors include her father, Charles W. Syphrit Jr., Thomasville; her mother, Virginia Ann Koger, Mt. Vernon; step-parents, Renee' Syphrit, Thomasville, Charles Koger, Mt. Vernon; four brothers, Dustin Thornton, State Line, MS, Justin Koger, Eight Mile, David Koger, Mt. Vernon, Charles Bradley Koger, Semmes; six sisters, Deven Bradley, Theodore, Brittany Thornton, Citronelle, Tori Syphrit, Mt. Vernon, Ashley Foster, Turnerville, Rachel Malone, Richton, MS, Holly Syphrit, Thomasville; grandparents, Billy and Helen Syphrit, Jackson, Eddie and Eunice Turner, Deer Park, Betty and James Thompson, Vineland; great-grandmothers, Vivian Syphrit, Jackson, Mattie Deaton, Vineland.

The service was Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Chatom with Revs. Kenneth Harrison, Roger Perkins and Don Rushing officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
