Franklin Deleon Burroughs Sr., 61, of Grove Hill died Aug. 8, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
He was born June 18, 1948. He was a photographer.
Survivors include his parents, Deleon C. and Axie Mae Burroughs, Grove Hill; one son, Franklin Deleon Burroughs Jr.; two daughters, Rachel Ann Burroughs Small, Samaria Burroughs; one grandson, Tylor Small, all of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Kimberly K. Burroughs, Chicago, IL, Samaria (Omar) Abdullah, Naplesville, IL.; three aunts, Esther Robinson, Chicago, IL, Lillian Fleming, Dixmoor, IL; Claudia Roper, Grove Hill; two uncles, Dolfin (Lillie) Roper, Indianapolis, IN, Calvin (Mary) Roper, Cincinnati, OH; a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie L. Burroughs.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 14 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson. A second viewing will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 until the 12 noon service at Wilson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Grove Hill with Rev. Julius Gideons, pastor and eulogist. Burial will be in the Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Grove Hill.
