Doris Delois Rivers Hunt, 81, of Gainestown died Aug. 31, 2009 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 8, 1927. She was a faithful and devoted member of Gainestown A.O.H. Church of Gainestown where she served as the mother of the church and in many other capacities.
Survivors include five sons, Raymond (Elizabeth) Hunt, Lewis (Nettie) Hunt, Westly Hunt, all of Gainestown, Aaron Hunt, Mobile; five daughters, Julia Hunt, Jennifer (Edward) Williams, all of Gainestown, Clementine (Fred) Edwards, Mobile, Genevia (Paul) Foreman, Jackson, Sandra Jackson, Choctaw Bluff; four brothers, Jessie (Gloria) Rivers Hollis, N.Y., Hoover (Niki) Rivers, Jackson, Spencer (Eula) Rivers, Gainestown, Chester (Julia) Rivers, McIntosh; four sisters, Irene (Johnnie) Pogue, Satsuma, Lelia (Clayton) Mc- Cants, Barlow Bend, Eleanor Hicks, Betty (Lester) Sylvester, both of Hollis, N.Y.; a brother-inlaw, Eddie Rankin, Gainestown; 31 grandchildren; and a host of greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Louella Rivers; a daughter, Willie Ann Hunt, a sister, Flora Rankin, and a brother, Eldred Rivers.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 4 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Jackson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will be held Saturday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the Gainestown A.O.H. Church in Gainestown with Overseer Heary Rodgers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Gainestown A.O.H. Church Cemetery.
