Helen R. Beverly, 88, of Fulton died Sept. 13, 2009 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.
She was born Jan. 11, 1921 in Mobile. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was a former nurse.
Survivors include one son, Zanie Murphy, Selma; three step-daughters, Margaret Pritchett, Dixons Mills, Betty Jean Williamson, Thomasville, Lennie Malone, Prattville; two brothers, Kenneth Rivers, Reginal Rivers, both of Starville, MS; four sisters, Sylvia Thompson, Thalia Tuck, both of Maben, MS, Ruth Rainey, Biloxi, MS, Shalma Jones, Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Beverly, step-son, Thomas Beverly, a granddaughter, Angie Beverly Johnson, three sisters, Nell Menchew, Barbara Ann Mc- Crory and Alvir Rivers.
The service was Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Bill Faircloth officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Zanie Murphy, Donnie Boozer, Raymond Maples, Larry Newsome and Morris Allday.
