Leonard Melvin Griffin, (better known as “Lent Griffin”) 84, of Jackson died Sept. 21 at Seabreeze Health Care.
He was a member of Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. He served in the United States Army in World War II and the Korean War. He received the Wold War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with one good conduct medal.
Survivors include two daughters, Felicia Laverne Smith, Lenetta Ruth Lankford, both of Mobile; four grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren.
The service was Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson with full military honors. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
