Henry Gerald “Red” Autrey Sr., 75, of Thomasville died Oct. 16, 2009 at the V.A. Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
He was born Dec. 6, 1933 in Brillant. He was a member of Sunny South Baptist Church. He was a logger.
Survivors include one son, Henry Autrey Jr., Thomasville; two daughters, Deborah Kennedy, Selma, Cindy Bergeron, Lafitte, LA; two brothers, Milton Autrey, Vineland, Doyce “Hot” Autrey, Sunny South; one sister, Mattie McClelland, Sunny South; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady “Dub” Autrey Jr. and Cebo Autrey.
The service was Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at Sunny South Baptist Church with Rev. Sherman Williams officiating. Burial was in the Sunny South Baptist Church Cemetery. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were John Huckabee, Billy Underwood, Terry Maness, Robert Autrey, Len McClelland, Jackie Agee and Phillip Sims.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Stephens, Cecil Phillips, Jack Bennett, Wayne Roberts, Ben Autrey and Sammy Burleson.
