Ruthie Mae Simon Robinson, 79, of Jackson died Oct. 9, at Jackson Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 30, 1930. She was a member of Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in where she served in many capacities of the church: senior choir, missionary society, Sunday school teacher, church announcer, Sunbeam director and deaconess. She was owner and operator of R&R Wig Shop in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jesse J. Robinson, Jackson; three sons, Ray (Patricia) Robinson, Glynn (Regina) Robinson, Rory (Sharon) Robinson, all of Jackson; two daughters, Patricia (Bobby Sr.) Palmore, Birmingham, Angela ( Jamestican) Parham, Jackson; one uncle, R.L. Howell, Jackson; one sister-in-law, Betty L. Marshall, Detroit, MI; four brother-in-laws, James Robinson, Marvin (Rose) Robinson, all of Jackson, Bobby L. Robinson, Indian Head, MD, David Robinson, Richmond, VA. 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Minnie Simon Brothers, Rufus Simon Jr., O.L. Simon, J.B. Simon, a sisterin law, Janie Mae Robinson Williams.
The service was Oct. 14 at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson with Revs. Stevenson E. Tullis and Bobby Palmore Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
