Rev. Henry Jackson, 69, of Salitpa died Nov. 4, 2009 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born June 4, 1940. He was a member of Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church in Salitpa where he served as an elder. He was an ordained elder and pastored several churches in the A.M.E. Zion and A.M.E. churches.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Landrum Jackson, Salitpa; two sons, Quentin Ali (Michele) Jackson, San Diego, CA, Adrian (Shanner) Smith, Mobile; three daughters, Tammie Jackson, Mobile, Jessica Dodd, Fort Worth, TX, Tanya Speights, Chatom; one brother, John (Geraldine) Jackson, Chicago, IL; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Jackson, Long Beach, CA, F.J. Franks, Easton, MD; four sisters, Audrey (Arthur) Wilson, Shreveport, LA, Annie (Joseph) Smith, Cape Charles, VA, Alice (Allen) Sims, Rosie Lee (Arthur) Dilworth, all of Orlando, FL, Adline Williams, Woodbridge, VA; four sisters-in-law, Min. Martha Jackson, Cape Charles, VA, Regina Jackson, Bronx, N.Y., Emily Jackson, Jackson, Eugene Jackson, Philadelphia, PA; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd Jackson Sr. and Claudia Sewell; sisters, Edna Franks, Dorothy (Sue) Jackson, brothers, Edd Jackson Jr., Andrew Jackson, Robert Jackson, Ben Jackson, Rev. Bill Jackson, Freddie Jackson, Archie Ray and Debbis Lee Jackson.
The service was Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church in Salitpa. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery in Salitpa. Jackson Memorial Funeral home directed.
