Forecast says Clarke County could see a "dusting"

Clarke County EMA Director Roy Waite says the National Weather Service in Mobile has confirmed that south Alabama could see a dusting of snow Saturday.

Here is the forecast: 

Friday Night – 70% chance of rain during the evening hours, then snow likely after midnight. 

Winds North at 5 – 10 mph

Wind Chill – 25 – 30 degrees


Saturday. 30% chance of snow, primarily in the morning.  Snowfall should be ending by around 9 a.m.


According to the latest models, most all of Clarke County should see a dusting of snow with a potential of 1-2 inches across the northern portions of Clarke County.  Some areas could potentially see up to 3 inches.


Saturday Night lows around 27 degrees

It is likely that Clarke County will go under a winter storm watch later today (meaning conditions are favorable in the next 24-36 hours)
