Cleveland Glass, 87, of Linden died Dec. 10, 2009 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 13, 1922 in Linden. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served for many years as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and discipleship training secretary. He was a cattle farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Faye Glass, Linden; two sons, Dwain (Lyquinta) Glass, Ronnie (Darlene) Glass, all of Linden; one daughter, Daphne (Kenneth) Stockman, Moores Valley; one sister, Althea Glass, Thomaston; eight grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren.

The service was Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Revs. Chris Kynard, Irby Weaver and Paul Glass officiating. Burial was in the Octagon Cemetery in Linden. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Linden directed. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.

Active pallbearers were Mike Stockman, Will Glass, Mitch Glass, Paul Glass, Christopher Glass, Mark Harris, Darrell Stokes and Frank McGillberry.

Honorary pallbearers were The Deacons and the Adult III Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church.
