Anola Francene Holly, 51, of Jackson died Dec. 11, 2009 at a local hospital.
She was a Jackson City Councilwoman. She had worked with the Clarke County Department of Human Resources. Her affiliations included the Clarke County Development Foundation, the Clarke County Community Development Corp., secretary with the Clarke County Alumni of Alabama State University and associate conductress of the Bertha Mae Chapter No. 314. She also was a member of the BMC Social Sorority at Selma University.
She was a member of St. Union Baptist Church where she served as church announcer, choir president, youth mission counselor and a member of the building fund committee and the missionary society. She also was a Vacation Bible School instructor, a matron and an assistant teacher for Sunday School Class No. 7.
Survivors include one son, Lev Holly Sr., and her mother, Lillian Lucille Bush, both of Jackson; seven siblings, Karen Smith, Tuscaloosa, Samuel Holly, Atmore, Sheryl Whitmore, Eric Holly, Gerald B. Holly, all of Jackson, Howard Mitchell, Houston, TX, John James, Mobile; three grandchildren.
The service was Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. at the St. Union Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
