J.C. Weaver, 87, of Jackson died Dec. 13, 2009 at Jackson Health Care Facility.
He was born Feb. 1, 1922. He was a native of Allen. He was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church where he served several years as treasurer. He was a charter member of the Jackson Nutrition Center and served as a former officer in Woodmen of the World. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II earning two Bronze Stars. He was retired from The Southern Railroad as a railroad agent.
Survivors include three sons, James (Bridget) Weaver, Larry (Cindy) Weaver, Kenny (Lisa) Weaver, all of Jackson; one daughter, Elizabeth (Joe) Moskowitz, Houston, TX; one brother, H.C. Weaver, Marion; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The service was Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. at Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson with Rev. Don Rushing officiating. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
Active pallbearers were Jason Nichols, John Weaver, Chad Weaver, Brad Weaver, Sonny Weaver, Brian Weaver and Eddie McClure.
Honorary pallbearers were Bonnie Pope, Joe Baggett, Holland Reeves, Walter Grey Brooks, Robert Baugh, Perry McClure, Dayton Gunter, Sonny Williams, Clarence Carpenter and Jack Greer.
