Jodie Godwin Parden, 59, of Dixons Mills died Dec. 30, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary.
She was born Jan. 14, 1950 in Selma. She was a member of the Casey Church of Christ in Sardis. She had worked 32 years in the monument business with Granite Memorials in Thomasville.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Parden, Dixons Mills; one daughter, Ruthie Russell, Grove Hill; one sister, Judy (Ronald) Ford, Jones, AL; one brother, Thomas (Linda) Godwin, Pine Hill; one grandchild; a number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Godwin.
The service was Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Leon Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Ulcanush Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffeeville.
Active pallbearers were Wells Bozeman, Bobby Hepstall, Jimmy McDonald, Bill Morgan, Marvin Glass and Ford Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Strickland, Tonya Joyce, Ted Cornelius, Stratton Lewis, Edna Morgan and Terry Sue DeMent.
