Wilson Sims Jr., 65, a native of Rockville and resident of Jackson, died Dec. 27, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. Sims retired from the logging business after 40 years of service as a sawyer.
Survivors include his wife, Ursula Sims of Mobile; mother, Elveline Sims of Rockville; six children, Wilzy (Christa) Sims, Shannon (Leon) Waters and Jessie Sims, all of Jackson, James (Ashley) Dees, Tralinda Dees and Wilson Dees, all of Mobile; five sisters, Rosie Sims of Rockville, Henritta (James) Cox, Louise Jackson and Delphine Sims, all of Rockville, Valerie ( Joseph) Davis of Leroy; three brothers, Richard (Cookie) Sims of Saraland, Obidine Sims of Mobile and Frank (Rosaline) Sims of Rockville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; two godchildren, Tereca Daffin and Amanda Jackson, both of Mobile; and one devoted niece, Alisha Sims of Rockville.
Wilson was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Sims Sr.
The service was Saturday, Jan. 2, at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Cobb Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson.
