Snow in Southwest Alabama!
The snow is really coming down in Grove Hill Friday morning. It started late Thursday night and continued after midnight. By daylight it was snowing harder and continues to be steady at 8:30. There appears to be at least a couple of inches.
Many Grove Hill businesses are closed as are governmental offices. Before daylight Friday, there were reports of some roads and bridges icing over. The state and county have sanded some bridges and roadways and all reportedly are open. However, anyone who has to travel should use extreme caution. The best bet is not to be on the highways if you don't have to.
Here are some photographs made around Grove Hill earlier this morning. By the time this is posted, the snowfall will have increased.
The forecast falls for it to continue snowing most of the day. Accumulations could reach 4 to 5 inches.
