Herman Riley Chancey, 83, of Satsuma died Feb. 2, 2010 at Cogburn Nursing Home in Mobile.
He was born May 19, 1926. He was a native of Coffeeville. He was a member of the Ulcanush Baptist Church in Coffeeville. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He was a retired operator for International Paper Company.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lee Dunagan Chancey, Satsuma; three sons, Rodney (Jennifer) Chancey, Glen (Desi) Chancey, all of Satsuma, Donald (LaTrecia) Chancey, Citronelle; one sister, Margaret (John D.) Knight, Jackson; seven grandchildren, Rhett Chancey, Matthew Chancey, Mandy Chancey, Hayley Chancey, all of Satsuma, Ryan Chancey, Kyle Chancey, both of Daphne, Ranzie Arsenault, Citronelle.
The service was Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Ulcanush Baptist Church in Coffeeville. Burial was in the Ulcanush Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffeeville. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
Active pallbearers were Rhett Chancey, Matthew Chancey, Ryan Chancey, Kyle Chancey, Anthony Chancey and Barry Chancey.
