Elsie Joiner Williams, 95, of Tuscaloosa died Feb. 7, 2010. She was born March 20, 1914 in Thomasville. She married Clarence Joiner of Grove Hill. They moved to Akron, OH where they lived until 1943 at which point they returned to Alabama. In 1954 they moved from Thomasville toTuscaloosa. Mr. Joiner died at the age of 73 in February of 1977. Elsie spent many years managing the post office in Parkview Drug. In 1986 Elsie married George C. Williams. Retired, they resided in Tuscaloosa until his death in 1997. She then lived alone until health problems dictated that she move first to Assisted Living and later to Forest Manor Nursing Home where she was cared for until her passing.

Lynda) Joiner, Nanafalia; one stepdaughter, Jacqueline Warfel, Birmingham; eight grandchildren, Cathy (Bob) Wood, Dianne Rumanek, Marion
Johnny) Price, Genae Pugh, Jeff (Carmen) Joiner, Joe
Wendy) Joiner, Jack Joiner, Jennifer (Chris) Walker; three stepgrandchildren, Ashley ( Jay) Terrell, Eatherley (Owen) Schultz, Davies (Jen) Hood; 23 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be Feb. 11 at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service at Forest Lake United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa. Burial will be in the Bashi United Methodist Church Cemetery in Clarke County. The burial service will be at 4 p.m. at the Bashi United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation in Bashi will begin at 3 p.m. All services will be directed by Sunset Funeral Home and officiated by Rev. Hal Noble, who will be assisted by Revs. Chris Denson and Charlie Durham.
