Ruth Sanderson Koen, 76, of the Koenton community died Jan. 29, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
She was born Oct. 30, 1933. She was a native of the Koenton community. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Prentis Koen, State Line, MS, James (Jane) Koen, Millry; four daughters, Patricia Sims, Waynesboro, MS, Linda Lucas, Jean (Keith) Sheffield, both of Citronelle, Cheryl (Chris) Evans, Chatom; two brothers, Roland (Janelle) Sanderson, Curtis Ray (Linda) Sanderson, all of Millry; one sister, Gayle (Albert) Smith, Grove Hill; 10 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James “Buck” Koen, one son, Kenneth Earl Koen, a grandson, Lancer Lucas and a sister, Curnice Rea Ross.
The service was Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Koenton with Revs. Ernest Tucker and Mike Malloy officiating. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
Active pallbearers were Nicholas Sims, Kelly Sims, Steven Koen, Dexter Koen, Adam Carpenter and Andrew Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers were Roland Sanderson and Curtis Sanderson.
