Nellie Gaye Sullivan Phillips, 78, of Clarke County died Feb. 4, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
She was born Aug. 2, 1931. She was a native of Washington County. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Jackson. She was a homemaker. She was known as a true “Southern Belle.”
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Randal) Broadhead, Jackson; three sisters, Rena Sullivan, Evergreen, Aline (Roger) Haseltine, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Joanne (Fred) Stewart, Saraland; two brothers, Douglas (Omega) Sullivan, Leroy, Jackie (Elsie) Sullivan, Wagarville; two grandsons, Philip (Renee) Broadhead, Sean Broadhead; one great-granddaughter, Keira Broadhead.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Phillips; her parents, Hiram Davis Sullivan and Nellie Tarver Sullivan.
The service was Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Jackson with Rev. E.C. Russell officiating. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery in Wagarville. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
Active pallbearers were Brian Sullivan, Mac Sullivan, Tim Sullivan, Jason Sullivan, Tillman Bozeman and Brian Moseley. (4-1tp)
