Douglas Harvell, 71, of Fulton died Feb. 22, 2010 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
He was born Oct. 8, 1938 in Pine Hill. He attended Lamison Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver and owner of D & E Cleaners.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Harvell, Fulton; one son, Robert Scott Harvell, Grove Hill; two daughters, Barbara Ann Pugh, Fulton, Donna Sue Andrews, Bassetts Creek; two brothers, Jesse R. Harvell, Burk Harvell, both of Pine Hill; three sisters, Etta M. Hightower, Brozine Morgan, Tipsey Tyler, all of Pine Hill; two half-sisters, Della M. Murphy, Tarpon Springs, FL, Maize Payne, North Fort Myers, FL; 10 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-son, J.L. Tribble.
The service was Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill.
Active pallbearers were Danny Ray Pugh, James Douglas Pugh, Christopher Scott Harvell, Douglas Allen Harvell, Jessie Tribble III, and Christopher Barger.
Honorary pallbearers were Poss Parten, Ramond Autrey, David Wright, Alvin Hepstall, Lane Sheffield, Rex Sheffield, Floyd Harper, Frankie Godbold, Gerry Crosby and the employees of D&E Cleaners.
